About Us

A bit about me...

Hello, I'm Louise from G.B.F.S. Support Services. Our name symbolises my four children, with each initial representing their first names. The "F" stands for my youngest son who has passed away, serving to keep my four children together.

I have been carer for over thirty years caring for family members affected by mental health issues and am aware of the unspoken challenges and stressors the role of caring for others brings. I currently care for my frail aged father.

For over 15 years, I have been deeply involved in community groups, contributing to both regional and rural areas in Western Australia. This led me into counselling and social work to provide a set of holistic tools to empower others.

Vision

My vision is to empower individuals by providing comprehensive support, counselling, and advocacy. G.B.F.S. Support Services aims to help people overcome challenges, find their voices, and access the resources they need to lead fulfilling lives. Through our service, we aspire to foster resilience and promote positive change in the lives of those we serve.

Mission Statement

Empowering others through knowledge to support others living their best life

Achievements

I have had the privilege of working with not-for-profit organizations and government agencies, which has provided me with a comprehensive perspective on addressing community needs and empowering others.

.

During my tenure at the University of Western Australia (UWA), I was honoured with the Pat Fox Memorial Award, recognising my substantial contributions to the university's well-being, companionship, culture, and my dedication to empowering others. Additionally, UWA awarded me the City of Albany Prize, further highlighting my commitment to enrichment and collaboration. These awards underscore my dedication to fostering a sense of belonging and unity within and commitment to enhancing the broader community's social fabric through working with those who require counselling and psychosocial assistance including the professionals that seek to support individuals through clinical supervision.
